ArtServ Exhibit Celebrating Latin and Hispanic Artists

ArtServ in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will have an art exhibit celebrating Latin and Hispanic Artists from October 13 to December 30 called Narrative In Latin American Art. The exhibit will have 31 artists and is free and open to the public. The art exhibit will show the storytelling of Hispanic and Latin art and represent the countries of Puerto Rico, Columbia, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Chile, Haiti, and Uruguay. The exhibit is a wonderful way for local artists to appreciate the history and style of Latin and Hispanic art in the local area. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday and is located at 1350 Sunrise Blvd, which is about 25 minutes from Boca Raton.

Hispanic Heritage Month began in 1968 when congressman George E. Brown pushed for the Latin and Hispanic community’s recognition and contributions. The civil rights movement was at its peak, and there was a growing demand for multicultural diversity. He represented East Los Angles and the San Gabriel Valley and wanted to help these communities be recognized for their role in American history. Its date, September 15, coincides with Independence Day, celebrated in five Latin countries. The celebrations started within a week and have been expanded to one month.
